Hey everyone, thanks to everyone who came out to battle or just hang out with the crew. Our normal practice area was unexpectedly taken over by the KSA, so went back and forth between a few different buildings till we settled into an Angell Hall classroom. Sorry if you couldn't find us.

To everyone that came, I bet you were impressed by the talent level and had a good time.

Congratulate everyone that made the group if you see them around, and I hope you'll check out our performances which we'll inform all of Element 1 about via email.

Expect a member battle (there'll be prizes!!) around next February which will also serve as the second try outs.

On Deadly Grounds 1.5 got postponed yet again. The event is now scheduled to happen in Detroit on Decemeber 18. That new date is in the middle of the start of finals, but some of us will got out to it anyway. We'll send out a new email later on to offer transportation. Saturday sessions from 7pm-9pm are still on.

Next Thursday, Dec 9th at Angell Hall from 8pm-10pm, we will have an element 1 member battles which will also serve as t$ format will be a series of exhibition team battles. The judges for the bboying and bgirling section will be Matt, Larry, and Dara. Elijah and Evan will $

We will not be deciding which team won in order to decide who gets into the performance group, but instead will be evaluating the talent level of each in$

The movie showing is for International Breakdance Event: Rotterdam (The Netherlands) 2003. If you wanna learn more about their event, check out their website. The organizers pick the top bboys from several different countries like France, Germany, and the USA etc....and each group battles each other.

    Special Tuesday Session this week Nov 2

We're throwing another practice session tomorrow (Tuesday) from 8PM to 10PM in the angell hall spot.

A bgirl from west michigan, Lara aka Prodigy who is applying to the U of M this year, will be coming by and she really wants to meet and practice with all us. Dara called up several of my other friends that bboy, but don't go to school here, and they'll be coming out too.

Also, Steve (Styches) who practiced alot with us last year and visiting from Chicago since he needs to vote. He'll be gone for the year, so this is one of our few chances to practice with him.

    Elementor Program Announcement

The Elementor program will begin starting at tomorrow's session. You will be in a small group that meets once a week with an experienced breaker or popper, who will teach and help you improve. Each Elementor will have their own style of teaching, and may choose to set extra session days just for your group. An email group will be created for each day, so that you can all stay in touch and you may want to exchange phone numbers if you want to make extra practices and gatherings. You are recommended to come to the other session days just to practice on your own.

******Because more poppers signed up for the Saturday session, we will move the weekly popping session from Monday to Saturday. Anyone is welcome to come, but only popping music will be played. ******

    New Weekley Study & Break Sessions at Starbucks

We have a new session time on tuesdays 10pm-midnight at Basement of the Starbucks on E.Liberty and State st. Come do your homework, socialize with E1 members, and/or do some dancing on the floor.

    Elementor & Session/Study at Starbucks

I would like to thank everyone who has come out to support our club this year by coming to the sessions and dance workshop, getting membership, and getting a ticket to Master the Art.

We're going to divert our energy from all of the startup publicity and mass workshops, to making the club more close and tight-knit through social events and the elementor program. For example, we had our first movie night last Saturday which went pretty well. If you haven't made it around to coming by a session or event yet, you're still welcome to join us.

We will be having a STUDY GROUP and SESSION, this Tuesday Oct 11, starting at 10PM and ending whenever. The group meet will be at the Starbucks at Liberty and State stThey have a sweet dance floor downstairs. This will be the first time that we test it out and it could become a weekly thing. Do your homework with intermissions of practicing.

Elementor Program
If you would like to be part of the Elementor program, I need you to email dara
1. whether you want a breaking or popping elementor (or both)
2. the session(s) of the week you can come to consistently.

We'll try to accomodate everyone to their preference. The elementor will come to the day of the week to which he is assigned to, and may organize extra practice days just for his group to get together.

The elementor program WILL BEGIN after fall break, so email dara before then.

    Last Dance Workshop and E1 Movie Night

Our final dance workshop will be this Saturday from 7PM to 9PM in the dance room of the CCRB. As usual, we will review what we have done at the past workshops and cover new material. We'll also cover how you can keep on improving yourself, and the resourc es we can provide.

Before you leave, be sure to sign up for the Elementor program if you are interested in continuing to learn how to break or pop. Signups will be at a table near the door, where you will list your email address by a day of the week that you can come to con sistently to be taught. The smaller groups will make it easier for everyone to get to know each other and learn. Each group may have extra sessions or hang outs on their own, though it's completely up to decision of their members.

YOU MUST BE AN OFFICIAL MEMBER TO SIGN UP FOR THE ELEMENTOR PROGRAM, BUT ANYONE MAY PRACTICE WITH ELEMENT 1 AT ANY SESSION.

Our first movie night will be right after the session on Saturday, and starts at 10PM. We will be watching the DVD from Master the Art 2003. People will chip in to buy pizza and drinks.

The movie showing will be held at the dorm called Fletcher, which is south of the Michigan Union and across from the IM building. A map of the area can be found at Map.

From the Michigan Union at State st. and S. University, go straight down State st till you pass the Packard crossing. Make a RIGHT at Hoover, and Fletcher will be on your right.
